Understanding Auto-Assignment
The Auto-Assignment feature streamlines how projects are delegated to installers, offering two main approaches: Provisional Assignment and Auto Assignment.
Provisional Assignment
Provisional Assignment helps Pathway users by suggesting an installer directly within the Project Summary. This suggestion is based on a pre-configured mapping of postcodes to installers. It's like a helpful hint, showing you who's likely to be assigned.
Auto Assignment
Auto Assignment takes this a step further by automatically delegating a project to an installer. This happens at a specific, pre-defined stage in your project's workflow.
How Auto-Assignment Works
Here's a breakdown of the key aspects of Auto-Assignment:
- Postcode to Installer Mapping: We can assign multiple installers to a single postcode. Each installer gets a priority setting. If several installers have the same priority, our system will randomly pick one of them.
- Workflow Integration: Auto-Assignment kicks in and delegates the project when it reaches a specific, configured state within your project's lifecycle.
- Configuration Steps: To set up these mappings, our Support Team will ask you to provide a spreadsheet containing all the necessary postcode and installer information.
- Delegation Behavior: Sometimes, Auto-Assignment might not be configured for a particular scenario. In these cases, delegation occurs through the project's configuration when a status changes (for example, when a survey is sent). This typically means the project is delegated to a single, pre-determined partner.
This feature is designed to make installer assignment more efficient and accurate by using geographic data and integrating with your project workflows.
