We have significantly upgraded the Project Owner functionality to improve visibility and reporting across different organizational levels.
What’s New?
Previously, project owners were set at the creating Tenant level. This caused issues when projects were delegated; installers often couldn't see the owner because they didn't have access to the parent tenant's user list.
In Version 2, we have introduced Owner Delegation. You can now assign a project owner at every level of the delegation chain. This ensures that regardless of where you sit in the hierarchy, you can filter and report on project ownership accurately.
Coming Soon: These project owner fields will soon be integrated into our new Dashboard Widgets for real-time tracking.
How to Set a Project Owner
Navigate to your desired project.
Verify Access: Please ensure you have the necessary permissions. As a general rule, if you were able to configure this field previously, your access remains unchanged.
Assign Owner: Locate the "Project Owner" field next to the project title. Select the appropriate user from the dropdown menu.
Save: Once set, this data is immediately available for filtering and reporting.
Key Rules & Permissions
Visibility: To maintain privacy and security, an owner set at a higher level will not be visible to users if the project is delegated or assigned to an external installer.
Filtering: You can use the Project Owner field to generate custom filters and narrow down project lists within your specific delegation level.
Quick Comparison: V1 vs. V2
| Feature | Old Method (V1) | New Method (V2) |
|---|---|---|
| Assignment | Tenant level only | Every delegation level |
| Visibility | Lost during delegation | Persists at each level |
| Reporting | Limited / Broken links | Fully filterable at all levels |
| Future Use | Manual tracking | Dashboard Widget integration |
