1. Overview
What is AI Imagery?
AI Imagery is a new feature designed to ensure that photos submitted via Pathway and Relay are clear, usable, and high-quality.
Why do we need it?
Previously, images submitted for site verification were often blurry, too dark, or poorly framed. This caused delays, required manual reviews, and often forced teams to revisit sites to retake photos.
The Solution
AI Imagery acts as an automated "gatekeeper." When you upload an image, the system instantly analyzes it for sharpness, exposure, and resolution.
If the image is good: It moves forward for processing.
If the image is bad: You receive immediate feedback so you can retake the photo right then and there.
2. User Guide
For field teams and customers submitting evidence via Relay or Pathway.
How It Works
When you are asked to provide visual evidence (e.g., a photo of a fuse cutout, consumer unit or isolator switch), follow these steps:
Capture/Upload: Take a photo or select an image to upload within the specific question field.
Automatic Analysis: The system will immediately scan the image. It checks for:
Sharpness: Is the image in focus?
Exposure: Is the image too dark or too bright?
Resolution: Is the image quality high enough to see details?
Review Feedback:
✅ Pass: If the image meets quality standards, the system accepts it. No further action is needed; you can proceed to the next step. It might also pass, but provide some feedback on the confidence of the image, but this will not block progress!
❌ Fail: If the image is poor quality, the system will reject it and tell you why (e.g., "Image is too blurry").
Resubmit: If your image fails, simply retake the photo using the guidance provided and upload it again. You might need to add a flash, clean your lens, or move closer to the object to satisfy the checks.
3. Troubleshooting Checklist
If your images are repeatedly rejected, check the following:
| Error / Issue | Probable Cause | How to Fix It |
|---|---|---|
| "Image is too blurry" | Camera shake or dirty lens. | • Clean your camera lens.
• Hold the phone with two hands to keep it steady.
• Tap the screen to focus on the object before taking the photo. |
| "Image is too dark" | Poor lighting or deep shadows. | • Turn on your camera flash or use a torch.
• Avoid taking photos against a bright light source (e.g., the sun behind the object). |
| "Image is overexposed" | Too much light (glare). | • Adjust your angle to avoid direct glare.
• Tap a bright area on your screen to lower the exposure before snapping. |
| "Subject not clear" | Bad framing or distance. | • Ensure the Fuse Cutout fills most of the frame.
• Do not zoom in digitally; step closer to the object instead. |
| "Low Resolution" | Small file size or old device. | • Ensure you are uploading the original file, not a screenshot or a compressed thumbnail sent via messaging apps. |
