We have upgraded the way you edit projects in Pathway! The new Pathway Details V2 makes updating project information faster, smoother, and safer when multiple team members are working together.
🚀 What is changing?
Previously, whenever you saved a change to a project, the system had to reload and overwrite the entire project file. This could sometimes be slow and risked overwriting data if someone else was working on the project at the same time.
With this update, we have moved to Field-Level Updates.
Instant Saves: When you edit a field (like a status, date, or name), Pathway now only updates that specific piece of information instantly.
No More Full Page Reloads: You won't see the whole page refresh every time you make a small change.
Real-Time Collaboration: You can see updates happen live without needing to refresh your browser manually.
🤝 Better Collaboration & Safety
The biggest benefit of this update is how it handles multiple users. You no longer have to worry about accidentally deleting a colleague's work just because you both had the project open at the same time.
How it works:
Independent Editing: If you update the Project Name and your colleague updates the Due Date at the same time, both changes will save instantly and successfully.
Live Sync: You will see your colleague's changes appear on your screen almost immediately.
What happens if we edit the same field?
To keep your data accurate, Pathway now includes Smart Conflict Detection.
If you and a colleague try to edit the exact same field at the same time (e.g., you both try to change the "Status" simultaneously), the system will alert you.
You will receive a notification that the field has been modified by someone else.
This prevents you from accidentally overwriting their new data without knowing it.

Good news: You do not need to change any settings or install anything new.
Automatic Upgrade: This feature is being rolled out automatically to all accounts.
Seamless Transition: You can continue working as normal—you will just notice that things feel faster and more responsive!
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to save manually? While the system now updates fields instantly, always follow the standard "Save" prompts if they appear on specific forms. However, standard field edits will now feel much more "live."
Will I see where my colleague is typing (like Google Docs)? Not currently. You will see the result of their changes instantly after they are made, but you won't see a live cursor or typing indicator.
What if I am offline? This feature relies on a live connection to the server to ensure data accuracy. If you lose internet connection, your edits may not sync until you are back online.
