Managing Projects: Archiving, Unarchiving, and Deleting
From time to time, you might need to clean up your projects due to duplicates or simply to remove unnecessary items from view. Below is a guide to help you manage projects effectively while maintaining audit history.
Archiving a Project
Archiving a project removes it from view without permanently deleting it, preserving the audit history and is the safest option. Follow these steps to archive a project:
-
Navigate to the Project:
- Go to the project you want to archive.
- Locate the Actions Panel (this may have a different name depending on your project setup).
-
Archive the Project:
- Click the Archive button in the Actions Panel.
- Review the warning message carefully.
- Click Submit to confirm and archive the project.
Important:
- Once archived, the project will no longer be visible to the engineers it was previously assigned to.
Unarchiving a Project
If you need to restore an archived project, follow these guidelines:
-
Check for an Unarchive Button:
- Some projects may have a configured Unarchive button. Check if this option is available and if so click and the project will be restored after a confirmation message.
-
Submit a Support Request:
- If no button is available, send a support ticket to support@jumptech.eco.
- Include the following details in your email:
- Project name or ID.
- Project type.
- Reason for unarchiving (if applicable).
This information will help speed up the process.
Deleting a Project
Deleting a project permanently removes it from the system. This action is typically used for:
- Duplicate or mistakenly created projects.
- GDPR/Right to Be Forgotten data deletion requests.
Steps to Request Deletion:
-
Send a Support Ticket:
- Email the support team at support@jumptech.eco.
- Include the following details:
- Project name or ID.
- Project type.
- Reason for deletion (e.g., duplicate, mistake, or GDPR request).
-
Confirmation and Scheduling:
- The support team will confirm the details with you.
- Once confirmed, the deletion will be scheduled.
Important:
- Deleting a project cannot be reversed. Ensure you double-check all details before submitting the request.
This guide is designed to help you manage projects efficiently while ensuring compliance with audit and GDPR requirements. For further assistance, don’t hesitate to contact the support team.
