How to use 'Tasks'

Our new Tasks feature can be used to set internal tasks to your team, or yourself, to boost productivity and accountability. Please note, this feature is currently in Beta.

To access the Task Management page, click 'Tasks' on the left hand menu. The first time you access this page, you will see a walkthrough guide to show you through the below steps.

Creating a task group

Task Groups can be used to categorise and organise your tasks in any way you wish. For example, it could represent a specific part of the project or a customer contract name etc. You are free to use as you wish! 

  1. Click 'Add Task Group' in the top right of the screen
  2. Enter the Group Name
  3. Click 'Create'
    1. If you wish to add a task immediately to this group, follow the below steps 

Creating a task

  1. You can create a task in an existing task group by clicking 'Add Task' within the relevant group
    1. When creating a new task group, you will see the 'add task' row is already open
  2. Enter the task name e.g. 'Call [customer name] to discuss different Charge Point model'
  3. Select the Assignee 
    1. Note: all new tasks start at the status 'New'
  4. Select the due date
  5. Enter the Project ID - you can copy/paste this ID from the end of the project URL, for example:
  6. Click the green tick to save - simple!

Editing / progressing a task

  1. To edit or progress a task, click the pencil icon at the end of the row
  2. Here you can edit all fields related to the task, including the progress!
  3. Once done, ensure you click the green tick to save 

Deleting a task and/or task group

  1. To delete a task, simply click the bin icon at the end of the row 
  2. If you delete all tasks within a task group, it will also remove the task group

Filtering tasks 

  1. To filter, click the 'Filter' button at the top right of the screen
  2. You can filter based on the task status, user/assignee, project ID and a date range
  3. A typical use case may be to view all of your tasks on a specific date, so you would filter by:
    1. User = yourself 
    2. Date from and to = today
  4. Another use case may be to view all overdue tasks across the team, so you would filter by:
    1. Task status = overdue
